Welcome to the new Build and Test Lab (BaTLab) at UW-Madison. The BaTLab provides a variety of platforms (Linux, MacOS, Windows, FreeBSD) installed on x86 32- and 64-bit hardware to facilitate the building and testing of software in a diverse environment. Each platform receives scheduled operating system updates along with installs of common system packages (OpenSSL, Perl, XML, etc) and is subject to regular quality control builds to ensure that all software is working properly. The BaTLab facility enables managed, automated builds and tests which lead to the creation and hardening of production-quality software.
To get started, follow the instructions. They will point you to the tutorial and the reference manual, both of which are also linked to by the tabs above. If you have questions, please direct them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We build a few common open-source packages every day to ensure tool availability and verify Lab functionality. We have summaries of the results. For occasional email about the status of the BaTLab, you can subscribe to the batlab-announce mailing list.
